  • Mission:

  • Competencies:
    • Deep programming experience — one or more of Java, C, C++ on Unix environments
    • Deep knowledge of metadata systems as well as data flow systems
    • Experience in delivering bullet-proof systems that must run 24x365.25
    • Good knowledge of RDBMS systems as well as Hadoop
    • Working knowledge of workflow schedulers and data flow engines
    • Nice to have: experience in developing domain specific languages for systems -- some compiler / programming language background would be highly desirable

  • Outcomes:
    • Deliver a metadata system that spans RDBMS and Hadoop
    • Assist in the delivery of ETL framework that leverages this framework
    • Results in at least one well received and respected open source project
    • Results in a paper in a prestigious journal and/or conference
