Our Pune/India based Global Support Service (GSS) team is seeking Technical Support
 Engineers with strong technical and customer service skills who will act as the 
first line of contact for all customer inquiries.
Job summary
Customer-focused technology enthusiasts and those who share our passion for driving open
 source solutions into the mainstream are the exact kinds of people we’re seeking to lead 
our support efforts. Applicants will be considered for both immediate and future needs. 
A Frontline Technical Support Engineer will provide technical support for customers by 
phone or web. This includes basic troubleshooting of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and additional 
layered products. Previous experience with these projects is preferred but not required.
 To succeed in this position, candidates will need exceptional diagnostic capacities
 and the ability to communicate complex information concisely and effectively.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers by taking incoming calls and responding to 
  • web-based inquiries.
  • Perform diagnostics of problems, troubleshoot and develop solutions for customer issues.
  • Exceed customer expectations with outstanding customer service.
  • Consult with and develop relationships with in-house engineers and developers to 
  • drive creative solutions and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Contribute to global Red Hat knowledge management system in the process of 
  • working customer issues.
Required skills
  • Knowledge of Basic Linux system administration (installation methods, 
  • networking, firewall, security, clustering, web servers, and databases 
  • using Linux).
  • Well developed writing and English speaking skills.
  • Deep understanding of Linux/Unix and Open Source
  • Conveys information concisely and clearly to all levels of client.
  • Degree preferably in a scientific, technical or Computer Science.
  • Preference would be given to candidates who have worked on support
  •  role.
  • Active participation in LUGs (Linux Unix Groups) and Open Source 
  • Projects will be an added advantage
  • Should be comfortable working in Shifts.
  • Scripting abilities preferred (Perl/Python/Bash).
  • Prior RHCE or other Red Hat Certifications would be considered 
  • a huge advantage
