1. All qualifications, experience and age limit will be considered as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
2. Ph.D. is compulsory for Science, Humanities and Management subjects.
3. For Engineering disciplines, candidates with M. Tech. degree will be considered only for appointment as Assistant Professor with minimum AGP.
4. Higher starting pay may be offered to deserving candidates on recommendation of the selection committee.
5. Post wise reservation will be followed as per Government of India Reservation policy applicable to Centrally Funded Technical Institutions

Fuel and Mineral Engineering: B.Tech. in Mineral/Chemical/Mechanical/Metallurgical/ Mining Engineering or allied discipline with M.Tech/Ph.D. in relevant field and/or teaching/research/industrial experience in coal preparation/mineral beneficiation with specialization in Mineral Processing, Coal Preparation, Solid Fuel Engineering, Modeling and Simulation or Extractive Metallurgy including Agglomeration.
Humanities and Social Sciences: M.A./M.Phil. in Philosophy/English with Ph.D. and with good academic record and proven interest/publications with specialization in Ethics, Applied Ethics, Human Rights, Engineering Ethics, Scientific Ethics, English Literature, Literatures in English, Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Cultural Studies or Gender Studies.
Management Studies: Ph.D./fellowship from IIMs/XLRI/MDI with first class or equivalent at the preceding degree in the appropriate branch with specialization in Marketing Management/Managerial Economics & Econometrics. However, the requirement of Ph.D. degree may be relaxed in case of candidates possessing M.Tech. degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.

Application form may also be downloaded from the institute’s website htt://www.ismdhanbad.ac.in and submitted with necessary fee of Rs. 100/- in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of Registrar, Indian School of Mines, payable at Dhanbad to the Deputy Registrar (Estt.), Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad – 826 004. SC/ST/PH candidates are exempted form paying any application fee. Those who have already applied against earlier Advt. dated 8.02.2012 after 1.4.2012 need not apply against this Advt. However, they may download the application form and send their updated Bio-Data. They need not pay application fee again. Applications will be received any time during the year and will be considered from time to time till the vacancies are filled up. The Institute reserves the right to reject any or all applications or it may amend any of the clauses above as per the orders of the competent authority/ Govt. of India. Incomplete applications shall be summarily rejected and no communication in this regard shall be entertained.
